Velvet Machine is an Audio Unit v3 plugin that requires a compatible host application such as GarageBand, AUM, Cubasis, or Audiobus. The standalone app provided does not support the currently deprecated Inter-App Audio.

Velvet Machine is a resource-intensive audio effect when set to high levels. It demands a minimum of a 5th Gen iPad, iPhone 6s, or 1st Gen iPhone SE to support a single instance at maximum settings. However, reducing times and/or lowering densities significantly reduces CPU usage.

Velvet Machine presents a distinctive audio effect grounded in real-time convolution with enveloped velvet noise. Its key features include:

• Stretching and blurring even short sounds to waves of up to 10 seconds in length
• Generating reverb-like textures with a versatile volume envelope, allowing for effects such as reverse playback, fade in/out, pulsating rhythms, and more
• Serving as a random multi-tap delay with variable density, nearly resembling granular-like audio textures
